In this series the ocean is the author and Jonah is the witness. Each work records marks the water made itself: foam lines, current trails, the signature a wave leaves as it withdraws. No frame is composed twice, because the author never repeats herself.

Every work is archival and produced to museum standards. Art is an heirloom, and each piece is made to last generations, not seasons.

Most works are produced directly on archival aluminum dibond, a rigid museum-grade metal substrate prized for its permanence and flatness, then finished with a hand-built floater frame. Select works are created through the chromogenic photographic process, face mounted to glossy acrylic and back mounted to dibond, then custom framed. A white floater frame is standard; additional frame finishes are available on request.

Each work is released in a strict edition of 12. Every piece is numbered, and pricing rises through four tiers as the edition sells through. When the twelfth leaves the studio, the edition closes permanently.

The smaller sizes hold a hallway, a study, or a bedroom wall. From 48x32 the work begins to carry a room. The largest formats are architectural, meant for great rooms, stairwells, and spaces with viewing distance. If you are deciding between two sizes for a primary wall, take the larger one. Nobody has ever told us their piece feels too big.

About Jonah Allen

Jonah Allen is a world-class artist who has mastered the art of capturing movement in his photography. A passionate surfer, musician, and photographer, Jonah's deep understanding of rhythm and beat, and his keen eye for the colors of the coastline, have made his name and artwork a staple in the beachside communities of Northwest Florida. Jonah's work has found its way across the country and throughout the globe, in every place inspiring the viewer and eliciting the feelings that arise within the heart when one’s toes meet the sand and the surf. His images convey a sense of ease and calm, representing an artist’s determination and his understanding of his subject.

For Jonah, sharing the experience of nature is essential to his work. He has two purpose-driven goals in his work: first, to make people feel connected to the divine through his art, and second, to inspire people to experience nature themselves. Jonah's photography captures the emotion that has long drawn visitors and lifelong residents to the Florida Gulf Coast. With each evocative photograph made with great skill and a deep appreciation for the environment he captures, Jonah's work is an essential expression of the feeling only those who have experienced the serenity of the ocean truly understand.
